After 30 long years, the fate of ‘North Stoneville’ will likely be decided in the next term of Government. We say, to whichever Party wins: ‘Know that North Stoneville will be your legacy’ - one way or another... We say to Nigel $atterley and Archbishop Gold$worthy: ‘Know that North Stoneville will FOREVER be YOUR legacy’ - one way or another...

Our Rally last week confirmed united community and political opposition against $atterley’s plan that would wreak havoc on our community. Around 1500 of US, our Community, stood together, several openly grieving the horror of the Wooroloo bushfires, many quietly grieving previous bushfire traumas. And everyone fearing what’s to come if $atterley and the Church get their way. We’re told, ‘process’ must take its course. While we wait, we offer a Rally reminder, from one of our own: ‘NORTH STONEVILLE IS NOT DEFENDABLE IN A BUSHFIRE.’ So, on this Election Eve, we all wait - on what will, undoubtedly be, the era of THE NORTH $TONEVILLE LEGACY - one way, or another...

Yesterday evening - the Shire of Mundaring Council refused Structure Plan 79. The plan situated along Clutterbuck Creek would have seen the urbanisation of the old Parkerville Farm property. It included 3 cul-de-sac roads which are not suitable for fire-prone areas

There were many deputations this evening, the majority not in support of the plan.... Councillor Doug Jeans introduced a motion to refuse the plan based on fire safety concerns and drainage/run-off issues. In the end, the plan was refused 9 to 3.

The councillors in favour of the plan were:

• Cr Darrell Jones

• Cr Toni Burbidge

• Cr David Lavell

The councillors NOT in favour of the plan were:

• Cr Matthew Corica

• Cr James Martin

• Cr Jason Russell

• Cr Ian Green

• Cr Doug Jeans

• Cr Kate Driver

• Cr Amy Collins

• Cr John Daw

• Cr Simon Cuthbert

WAIT, there's more.

MASSIVE thanks to those of you who sent in a submission about this proposed plan in August 2020. At that time, the Shire received 108 community submissions. 103 of these were objections, 3 had mixed views, 2 were in support. It is these written deputations that carry considerable weight on nights like last night. Thank you to those who wrote in!

Introducing SP79 AKA the old Parkerville Farm up before council this evening (Tuesday 9th March). The landowner is Parkerville Children and Youth Care and you may recognize the urban designer - Roberts Day (planners for $atterleys North $toneville - which happens to be just across the road... )

It’s yet again another Fire Trap development with cul-de-sacs and inadequate escape routes for around 250 residents.

As usual, there has been zero community consultation when it comes to the development of the PLAN. As usual, the urban designers think they know what this Hills community wants and needs....

If you would like to make a statement to the Shire of Mundaring Council Tuesday evening - we encourage as many of you who are able, to do just that. You’ll have up to 3 mins. To register your intent to speak, email deputations@mundaring.wa.gov.au
