As we came out of another lockdown, we were reminded of February’s lockdown, when thousands were confronted by Perth Hills' worst-ever bushfires.

Since then, around 1500 of you rallied against the Anglican Church's North $toneville DISASTER PLAN, and Save Perth Hills have been rallying politicians to SAFEGUARD bushfire prone communities.

We've asked new Emergency Services Minister, Reece Whitby MLA, and Swan Hills' Jessica Shaw MLA, to help us secure PLANNING in the Wooroloo Bushfire Inquiry.

And last week, Australia's Governor-General toured Wooroloo meeting some of the 300 bushfire victims.

All this, while $atterley and the Church drag their Disaster Plan through ‘mediation’ hearings - the next which is on the 9th of June...

But what’s happened in the 4 hearings so far, where discussions and decisions are being made on ‘our behalf’?

Well - we don’t know, because they’re closed to the public.

We believe private hearings are no place for significant and impacting COMMUNITY decisions.

Ultimately, lives will depend on decisions about North Stoneville.

North $toneville MUST be decided in a FULL OPEN PUBLIC HEARING to demonstrate transparent and democratic decision-making.

The June 9 ‘closed mediation’ MUST BE THE LAST. Satterley and the Church have had 5 years to prove their case.

And our Community has said ‘NO’ for 30 years.

It's time to lay this dangerous and destructive plan on the line, publicly and put an end to the nonsense that is North $toneville, once and for all.

In the words of Premier, McGowan, Election 2021 was ‘monumental.’ Will 2021 be equally monumental for Perth’s Hills? Will 2021 finally see our unique and much loved Hills recognised as -

a place to discover, not destroy? a destination to visit, not violate? an environment to respect - not bulldoze? at risk of bushfire catastrophes that we learn from - not repeat? deserving of protection, not dangerous urbanisation?

a community who desperately needs to be safeguarded not endangered.

We look forward to a safe and exciting future for Perth’s Hills...

After 30 long years, the fate of ‘North Stoneville’ will likely be decided in the next term of Government. We say, to whichever Party wins: ‘Know that North Stoneville will be your legacy’ - one way or another... We say to Nigel $atterley and Archbishop Gold$worthy: ‘Know that North Stoneville will FOREVER be YOUR legacy’ - one way or another...

Our Rally last week confirmed united community and political opposition against $atterley’s plan that would wreak havoc on our community. Around 1500 of US, our Community, stood together, several openly grieving the horror of the Wooroloo bushfires, many quietly grieving previous bushfire traumas. And everyone fearing what’s to come if $atterley and the Church get their way. We’re told, ‘process’ must take its course. While we wait, we offer a Rally reminder, from one of our own: ‘NORTH STONEVILLE IS NOT DEFENDABLE IN A BUSHFIRE.’ So, on this Election Eve, we all wait - on what will, undoubtedly be, the era of THE NORTH $TONEVILLE LEGACY - one way, or another...

Plan for the future, not the past, and safeguard Perth Hills bushfire prone communities.
