Rethink EastLink

It’s now clear the proposed ‘East Link’ along Toodyay Rd is a mechanism to urbanise Perth’s Hills and destroy our natural environment. The latest from Main Roads paints a concerning picture of a massive bitumen highway and multiple large scale interchanges cutting through our Hills.

We have long stated East Link is not a ‘solution’ to $atterley’s firetrap ‘North $toneville’, especially regarding bushfire and adjacent John Forrest national park.

We all have until June 30 to respond to Main Roads. Please support Rethink EastLink and their efforts to ‘Save Perth Hills’…

This images show just four of the interchanges planned.

Please share this post, register, and provide feedback to Main Roads!

Before THURSDAY 30TH JUNE 2022, the Phase 2 opportunity to have your say on the planned EastLink WA/ Orange Route/ Perth Adelaide National Highway (PANH) closes..

The clock is ticking for the future of Stratton, Jane Brook, Middle Swan, Red Hill, Gidgegannup, Wooroloo, Wundowie, Bakers Hill, Clackline, Northam and beyond

This billion dollar Highway is only in the planning and development phase at the moment and is NOT FUNDED for construction. Every comment, contribution, share and submission at this stage is vital in stopping 80km of ROAD OUTRAGE.

Check out the maps on our website and the Interactive Map released by Main Roads yesterday (some screenshots are below) and consider how much lush bushland and vital biodiversity values would be sacrificed to create a freeway standard highway, with “freeway style” interchanges, not to mention all of the entry and exit ramps, signage, access points, bike paths, and footpaths required for this forty year old plan. It would likely pollute and divide communities, tear through a treasured and unique biodiverse region, turn up the heat on the planet, and decimate what’s important to people who work, live and play at life in Perth’s backyard.

Rethink EastLink are not the first group of locals to go the extra country mile to protect the beauty of Perth Hills from BeastLink, but we hope to be the last

If you have questions!

Come along to our Community Meeting on Wednesday 11th May 7pm - 9pm at the Gidgegannup Agricultural Hall to establish connections, share information and knowledge and work together to stop the construction of this Highway!
